House Clearance In Clydebank Case Example: Client instructions
In this case, a landlord asked us to clear two three-bedroomed apartments in a contemporary block in Clydebank. He had bought them some years previously principally as an investment although he had been renting them out to tenants as an ongoing source of income. The flats were now vacant and he wanted them cleared so that he could sell them. The proceeds were to go to his pension pot as he was now planning to retire to his Spanish home near Malaga.
We were to clear the furniture from the two flats, including the white goods from the kitchen. The carpets had been replaced quite recently as had the fitted kitchens, so they were to be cleaned but left in place.
Clydebank House Clearance Report
Because there were two flats to clear in the same block, we decided to send two two-man teams with a van each. Although the block was in the city centre we were able to park in the basement car park of the building. There was a service lift from the car park so although one flat was on the second floor and the other on the third, this would be a reasonably straightforward job.
Both teams got to work early and by mid-afternoon, the two flats had been cleared of all furniture and white goods. Each flat had a fairly new electric cooker, and we’d been instructed to leave them in place.
Once the flats were cleared we went back round them and gave them a thorough clean, including a steam clean of the fitted carpets and a deep clean of the kitchens.
Clydebank House Contents Disposal
Most of the furnishings were in good condition, with many items from IKEA and other budget stores. Unfortunately, even in good condition, this type of furniture seldom has much secondhand value. We suggested to the client that we could donate these items to charity and he was happy to accept this idea. We gave the furniture to a local women’s refuge and a hostel for homeless people in the Clydebank areas.
A leather sofa and two leather armchairs were worth selling as were the white goods from both apartments. We sold those through our own retail unit and set the proceeds against the cost of the clearance.
In this case, nothing went to landfill.
Clydebank Customer Feedback
The client was very pleased with our work and with the way we’d left both properties in excellent condition. He was also very pleased that we’d managed to reduce the cost of the clearance by selling the furniture and white goods.
