Case study for a house clearance in the Bathgate area
Bathgate House Clearance Requirements
Our client for this property clearance was an estate agent, working on behalf of the owner. The property in question was a 1930s semi-detached house with four bedrooms in Bathgate. During the last decade, the owner had been letting out the property, but the last set of tenants had left the house in poor condition, with broken furniture and numerous personal effects still inside the property.
We were instructed to clear and clean the property so that the landlord could upgrade the furnishings and decor for re-letting.
Bathgate House Clearance Overview
When we arrived we met the estate agent at the property. There was a large driveway with plenty of space to operate. He handed us the keys and we started work.
Some of the furniture was to remain in place and this had been marked by the estate agent. Other pieces were beyond use, and we were to clear those and dispose of them. The kitchen was to be completely cleared as the landlord was going to completely refurbish it. Carpets and curtains were also to be upgraded, so we were to remove them.
After clearing the entire property, we left it neat and tidy. A deep clean was not required as decorators were coming in. We finished the work just before 7 p.m. and the estate agent returned to collect the keys.
Bathgate Disposal of Contents
Unfortunately, none of the furniture that we cleared was in a good enough condition to be reused, so we had to deliver it to the local council’s waste facility. However, we had found a collection of books and DVDs abandoned by the former tenants, and these we donated to the local Oxfam shop in Bathgate . A large amount of paper and cardboard waste and old clothes went to recycling. We always work to minimise the amount of waste that has to go to landfill.
Bathgate Client Comments
After he’d checked over the property at the end of the day, the estate agent confirmed that he was very happy with the standard of our work. He particularly praised our speed and efficiency, and said he would be adding us to his list of approved contractors.
